We are looking to add an experienced Grower Relations Representative - Central Coast to our Cakebread family.
This position will work with third-party growers to continually improve wine quality and stewardship by ensuring all vineyard activities meet standards established at the beginning of each season.
Under the direction of the Grower Relations Manager, the Grower Relations Representative will serve as the primary interface with outside growers supplying grapes to the company's Central Coast wine brand.
This role also includes sustaining relationships with existing growers, identifying new vineyard sources in conjunction with pricing and quality parameters, tracking key vineyard activities, developing yield estimates, and supporting sustainability strategies.

Enjoy the fruits of your labor! What we will ask of you to do:
At least three times per month, travels to all third-party vineyards on the Central Coast to ensure all vineyard work meets the winery's standards and expectations.
Manages and cultivates relationships with third-party growers and cultivates relationships with new growers to meet tonnage targets established at the beginning of the growing season.
Offer suggestions on AVAs to explore for adding fruit to the Bezel program Assist with negotiation, drafting, and processing of grape contracts.
Work with production team to identify tonnage requirements and source fruit on the Central Coast to meet seasonal demand and future growth.
Scouts grower vineyards for the purpose of assessing vine/crop development, nutrient balance, pest pressure, and crop estimating.
Collects viticulture data, including but not limited to:
data relating to quality control metrics, plant health, vine growth, seasonal phenology, crop estimating, irrigation, and water.
Collects berry and/or cluster samples during harvest and assists with processing.
Attends grower harvests to verify the fruit delivered to winery is clean, has an acceptable level of MOG, and is picked from the correct block/section per the grape purchase agreement.
Works with growers to initiate and support sustainable and organic farming measures.
Works with growers to carry out the company's sustainability initiatives, including the elimination of herbicide use in third-party vineyards.
Performs all other tasks assigned.
What you should bring to the table:
Bachelor's degree in viticulture, enology, agricultural production, biological science, or related field 3
years of viticulture, grower relations, or vineyard management experience Experience working in partnership with growers and/or vineyard managers on multiple sites Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Office Familiarity with Vintrace preferred Demonstrated capability in organizing and managing projects simultaneously Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to agricultural and related fields.
Ability to work independently and execute job responsibilities with limited guidance and supervision Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Commitment to excellence and high standards Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm Highly dependable with acute attention to detail Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Clean driving record and ability to drive in difficult terrain using magnetic directions What we will bring to the table:
