Service Manager Job Description The Service Writer position is essential for the successful operation of our fast-paced and dynamic dealership by providing the customer with a full-service experience during the maintenance and repair of their powersports unit(s).
The Service Writer is the primary point-of-contact for the customer and provides accurate and complete information to the customer in an understandable way throughout their entire service experience.
The Service Writer must collect and thoroughly document the customer's contact information, their concerns and service needs, and the unit's identifying information and condition at reception.
Moreover, the Service Writer effectively interprets information from the technician to the customer regarding preventative maintenance and needed repairs and influences the customer to act upon the technician's recommendations.
This position demands flexibility and sound judgment in the execution of duties and responsibilities as well as the expectation to provide exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
-Provide exceptional service to customers at all times, maintaining high customer satisfaction standards -Provide timely, accurate, and thorough communication regarding the maintenance, service, and/or repair of their -powersports unit(s) throughout the service and repair process, including proactively communicating any delays for --customer-authorized service and repairs -Provide customers with complete and accurate recommendations for service and repairs, guiding them to make informed decisions in the best interest of all parties and to reduce the likelihood of comebacks.
-Use DX1 system to schedule appointments and deliveries; thoroughly document complaint, cause, and correction to the repair order; and receive and process payments for service and repairs.
-At reception, accurately and thoroughly document and verify customer concerns and unit's performance issues; conduct a thorough inspection of the unit and document all details in repair order -Conduct road tests as required to verify customer concerns -Ensure all vehicles and keys are tagged correctly and stored in assigned areas -Adhere to documented Service Department procedures, menus, and pricing guides; complete forms correctly and completely -Maintain a professional appearance and decorum -Maintain a clean and tidy workspace at all times -Other duties as assigned by Management Minimum
Qualifications:
-Ability to be professional and courteous with customers and co-workers at all times -Experience using computer applications to schedule appointments, document service and repair orders, and/or receive payments -Experience working with customers in a service-based industry -Knowledge of and ability to employ customer service skills -Excellent verbal and written communication skills -Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner in person, over the phone, and via electronic channels (e.
g.
, text message, email) -Ability to document information with a high level of accuracy and detail -Ability to quickly learn and follow documented service writer procedures -Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing powersports dealership environment -Demonstrated dependability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision Preferred
Qualifications:
