Service Manager Job Description The Parts Counter Person position is essential for the successful operation of our fast-paced and dynamic dealership by providing internal and external customers with price, availability and fitment information on the parts and accessories available for any units that we sell or service.
This position demands flexibility and sound judgment in the execution of duties and responsibilities as well as the expectation to provide exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities Assist all customers (retail and service department) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
Answer phone calls, providing price and availability information.
Provide a high level of service to retail and service department customers.
Pull and fill orders from stock.
Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Locate out-of-stock parts from an outside source and submit an emergency order, as necessary.
Notify the service advisor and the customer when special ordered parts have been received.
Pull orders for the service department, making sure all parts are tagged with customer names and job number.
Follow up on back-ordered parts.
Verify back-order files weekly and return to vendors, or stock those items not picked up or required.
Replenish assigned inventory daily.
Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
Ensure that all charge sales are signed by the customer.
Ensure that all customers receive their copy of the invoice.
Issue credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available so that purchase and pricing can be verified.
Keep orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates and special-order parts.
Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up.
Solicit assigned accounts by phone.
Keep front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered.
Clean computer terminals and printers daily.
Participate in all training programs that are made available.
Keep current on new products and product updates.
Participate with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.
Keep retail merchandise display in order and fully stocked per parts manager direction Maintain professional appearance.
Other tasks as assigned.
Assist parts manager in receiving/tagging new parts that arrive daily.
Minimum Qualifications Ability to be professional and courteous with customers and co-workers at all times Practically apply safety protocols regarding the use of equipment and units at all times Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing powersports dealership environment Demonstrated dependability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision Good verbal and written communication skills Mechanical aptitude and ability to follow service manual instructions California drivers license in good standing Preferred Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Ability to speak conversational English and Spanish Training or experience in the powersports industry Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift Forklift certification Ability to speak conversational English and Spanish Job Type:
